Daniela Simon Architect @ SODAA recently completed the refurbishment and interior design the new Swanline Group office. Thank you to Swanline Group for engaging the team at SODAA for our design services. The refurbishment of a modest warehouse required a change of use and it resulted in a design that saw the boundary-to-boundary building be divided into three main spaces: parking, services and 175 m2 of office space. The challenge was that of relocating a company that has had a long standing traditional image in the business community of developers of West Perth to a new, more vibrant and contemporary office in Subiaco. This was the requirement of the new generation of directors who wished to work in a more visible urban environment, craved for more connection to street life and desired an open plan working environment. In the last six months since the move, the challenge has been met and, whilst the spatial organisation is straight forward, Swanline has welcomed the change of image and the possibilities that the resulting interior design has offered. Our clients have found that the office space lends itself to hosting unexpected events such as a fully on-site catered Christmas party, a birthday party with a dance floor in January and a fund-raising event for the Art Gallery of Western Australia in March this year.
